Antonio Wants West Ham Exit
Exclusive in Times this morning

Fed up of how he's been treated by the medical staff and the low wages he is on compared to Snodgrass and Fonte

Jimbo, being generally negative is a staple of this Board.

Good post jimbo2. It really does make me laugh that every negative poster on here would say they take no notice of the media yet...

Antonio is going nowhere all the time he has a long contract. He either gets £70k pw or stays for the next few years at £35k pw. Difficult one for him and his agent....not.

So many of you are willing, even eager, to accept any old regurgitated shit the press print. Surely you know that so much of it is made up or grossly exaggerated, just to sell newspapers? Yet somehow many instantly want to believe it & use it as another excuse to attack our players, owners or even the stadium. It's as If you want West Ham to struggle & relish in it all. I would hate you to be on my jury, if I was falsely accused of a crime. You certainly wouldn't let a little thing called the truth or facts get in the way of justice! Lighten up & stop being so negative about everything!

Re: Antonio Wants West Ham Exit
At clubs that want to be successful Alex, they replace sold players with top quality. We've only mastered the art of selling good players. Not only that, but we don't even get top dollar for them unlike well run clubs, so while in your dream we sell Antonio for £25 million and spend a fraction of it on the next Mahrez, in reality, we'd sell him for £15 million and spent the lot on a 30 year old from Grimsby backed up by a few frees from Gambia.

I'd rather we just kept a decent player for once and tried to improve the squad of player available.

>>> Yes lets sell for £25m and get Jarvis back for £10m.

Or Mahrez for 500k. That's what happens. Some players leave, others come in. It happens at every single club - we don't have to be scared or pessimistic about it.

You don't have to replace like for like. He'd sell for possibly £25-30m not 7. I also don't think anybody has a problem with paying him that wage - he should ask for more, quite honestly.

Never had a decent song about him, it was all bit of a mish mash. No stand out tune like Payet.

No wonder he feels u loved.

Re: Antonio Wants West Ham Exit
I think anyone who says he's not worth 70 grand a week in today's mad climate needs their bumps read.

He's played everywhere but in goal this season including centre forward and right back- neither position suits his style and completely wastes the best right winger we've had for years.

He was just about the only player to fly out of the traps at the start of the season and banged a good few goals in. What was his reward? Shoehorned out of the position he's played in his whole career to accommodate Tore or Fegouli.

The thing about playing in a big posh stadium to 60000 punters is you've got to deliver a team worthy of one of the biggest stadiums in the country. Despite saving a billion pounds on building a new stadium the owners seem unwilling to leave the pound-shop mentality behind them.

Replace him with another double-figure goal scoring ENGLISH right-winger for seven million and seventy grand a week?

In today's market we spent more than that on a shit Scottish player and a Portuguese defender whose best years are behind him.

Re: Antonio Wants West Ham Exit
Alex - I've always considered him overrated on this site and nobody, including himself, knows what position he's supposed to play. But I stand by all our players. I've seen and supported enough shit players who put the graft in for us over the years and he's better than many of them.

Been great for us but we are his level, don't think he's good enough to be a regular at a top 6 side and I see us just of that

I can't really imagine it is though, he was in Division 2 a couple of years ago and he earns what he should, more or less. If someone else gets paid too much it doesn't mean we should give every other cunt a pay rise.

I don't know, those figures are from c&h. I can only presume they are accurate? They say Antonio is on 35K and has been offered a double your money deal WITH ADD ONS. Why hasn't he taken it then? At a guess maybe he wants a straight 70k, and there are some ADD ON clauses he doesn't want, such as goals scored or appearances?

c&h playing it down saying it is an old story from the times rehashed? As Leroyboots said they are the clubs mouthpiece, they just repeat whatever propaganda the club want them to say. So can't believe too much of what they say.
